The Third Place

Summary

The Third Place is a startup aimed at helping small businesses to engage more deeply and authentically with their guest base. Users include a variety of businesses from mom-and-pop shops, to experimental pop-ups, to fine dining establishments such as 3-Michelin-starred restaurant Atelier Crenn.

I have worked with The Third Place for the last several years to take this startup from 0-1.

My role

My day-to-day involves:

  • Reviewing and discussing requirements for new features

  • Taking loose or open ended ideas to fruition

  • Creating user flows and wireframes

  • Designing and iterating in Figma

  • Creating high-fidelity prototypes

  • Adjusting and reimagining features based on user feedback

  • Communicating regularly with the engineers

  • Maintaining a central component library of assets and styles to ensure consistency across designs

There are two main product experiences based on our two user types: small business owners, and their customers.

Event creation and management

Each business can tailor their public-facing pages to match their brand.

I maintain a component library to keep elements consistent

Taking new features from 0-1 involves iteration and constant feedback

The member portal is the experience that a guest will interact with regularly.
